Emma's Music Time

When is it time for Emma's music? All the time is Emma music time of course!! She has this Sesame Street tape that she absolutely LOVES and the little genius has figured out how to press play. So if you were planning on listening to the radio, your own CD, or even a Piston's game, FORGET IT! It's Emma's music time! And she gets the biggest kick out of her tape (which is interesting because she is never actually awake for Sesame Street during the day). She smiles, claps, and even be-bops to the music!

Teddy Bear Cliff

The crib has now become a launch pad for such items as blankets, teddy bears, and pacifiers. Once the not-so-willing-to-nap Emma has successfully emptied her crib, she starts screaming for all of these necessary sleep items to come back. Although tiresome, this whole process is actually quite comical-- one of the bazillion things this little peanut does throughout the day to keep me laughing!
The usual Tuesday trip to the grocery store today....nothing too exciting, but Emma did eat her ENTIRE lunch while in the shopping cart. I have to say, this made for a smooth experience. She didn't get bored at all, though I did run out of cheese sandwhich LONG before Emma would have liked.
Emma started babbling almost all of her letters today. She had a very limited vocab. for quite sometime, but all of a sudden she's saying "dada" and "nana" and all kinds of goofy sounding blabber. She's a talker (who could she have gotten that from?!)

Daddy's Little Girl

Emma has REAALLLLY become attached to daddy lately, chasing him all around in the morning, insisting on "helping" him brush his teeth, and hugging his legs if he's trying to get ready for work. And when he leaves.....she gets really bummed. She's definitely a daddy's girl!

It's hard to believe Emma was ever that little!

10 Months and SOOO MUCH energy!

We headed to the doctor's for a 10 month checkup yesterday. She was doing great--waving to everybody, laughing, running around.... until the (male) doctor walked in. She has this thing for male strangers. I swear I haven't been feeding her any propaganda! Poor Emma would NOT stop screaming (even the blood test on the finger wasn't as bad) until he shut the lights off! How funny-- as long as she can't see him, she's fine! Ah well! She's "perfect" though, which is great news (news? this is something we've been saying from day one!) and it turns out she's the size of a very healthy 13 month old! Walking early, feeding herself early-- and soooo sweet! But.....the doctor let me in on a little secret-- all those midnight feedings she's been requesting as of late are not necessary. She's doing it just to socialize! Sooooooo, that little party is over!

79 cents of FUN FUN FUN

Our little sleepless wonder.......Let's see.....she went to bed after 8 last night, woke up for a bottle, and at 5:45 was roarin to go! This is the same story as yesterday, with only one 45 minute nap to speak of! I think she's just stoked about the world and her newfound autonomy in it!
This little social butterfly found the park pretty lame (as usual) yesterday until a 4 year old boy showed up. Then she wouldn't leave him alone!!!! She thought he was HILARIOUS and kept running around the bottom of the playground that he was climbing on. Boy has she cracked through her little shell!
Emma has discovered the joy of the tissue box. They keep coming and coming and coming, and she gets to shred it all up. The fun never stops, and for 79 cents, why should it?!
The other goofy picture is of Emma just after she got some sunscreen slathered on. It's so thick, it always makes her hair stand up!

Pickin Flowers

She's discovered dandelions and all the yellow paint that comes with them! Hope they don't stain- we'll find out come laundry day. Til then, she can enjoy all the flower picking she wants! She gets super excited when I start singing "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands". With a huge smile on her face, she holds her little clappy hands up and just claps away!

gym baby

Emma loves gymboree, but she doesn't exactly follow the rules. Instead of sitting, she's walking. And forget the laying down. No way! She's up trying to eat the clown puppet's hand. I can't wait to take her to MAG's program this fall. She's definitely coming out of her shell and trying to meet and play with everyone (especially puppets!)

monday monday....

Little clappy hands are really working now! She even claps for herself when she does a good job! What a cutie pie. She also said her first word (besides "mama")-- "boo" which is supposed to be "book". Emma's always loved her little pile of books, so I guess it's very fitting that this is her first word. The funny thing is-- she claps for herself every time she says it!! Hahaha! First trip to the library, and it was wonderful! I think we'll start going to the baby reading time on Saturdays since she likes to read so much!
